“New Year, New Me”… Right? As a part of making sure those New Year’s Resolutions will actually stick this year (cough, cough), use these home hacks to feel even more productive!
1. Lined Up Linens
Cluttered linen closet? Fold your sheets and place them inside one of their matching pillow cases. Next time you need to change the sheets, just grab the case!
2. Soda Tab Space
Crammed closet? Use the top hole of a soda can tab to put around the top of a hanger. Use the bottom hole for another hanger. Two shirts taking up one space!
3. Nail Polish Remover
Stained sneakers? Use nail polish remover on the rubber parts of your sneakers to remove stains and make them look brand new!
4. Hidden Key
Need a clever place to hide your extra key? Use a small medicine bottle and place a house key inside of it. To hide it, hot glue a leaf or acorn on the top and place it into the ground or flower pot.
5. Recycled Grocery Bags
Need help organizing those plastic bags from grocery shopping? Store them in a tissue box mounted to a cupboard or closet door.
6. Coconut Oil
Dry lips? Coconut oil. Sunburn? Coconut oil. Teeth whitener? Coconut oil. Split ends? Coconut oil. Cooking? Coconut oil. Cold Sore? Coconut oil.
7. Velcro Strips
Are kids and pets constantly moving your area rugs? Use Velcro strips to keep them in place.
8. No Mess Paint
Don’t like the hassle of paint cleanup? Place a rubber band around an open paint container to wipe your brush on, instead of using the sides!
9. Shoe Hangers
Need some extra storage space? Perfect for cleaning supplies or pantry products, shoe hangers on the back of any door make for easy organization.
10. Aluminum Foil
Run out of dryer sheets? A ball of foil can be a great substitute.
11. Cold Beverages
You’re not the only one to forget to put drinks in the fridge on time. Wrap a wet paper towel around the beverage and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes. After that it will be ice cold!
12. Boiling Water
Want to keep a pot from boiling over? Simply place a wooden spoon across the top of the pot.
13. Shoveling Snow
Need some extra help this winter? Use nonstick cooking spray on your shovel before you go out, this will make the snow slide off easily.
14. Folding Fitted Bed Sheets
No one will ever know how to do this.
