ditech, associate sponsor of Stewart-Haas Racing’s (SHR) No. 4 ditech Chevrolet SS, congratulates driver Kevin Harvick on his first series championship, won November 16, 2014 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.
“Kevin’s performance in the Sprint Cup Series was simply remarkable,” said Rich Smith, Chief Marketing Officer at ditech. “His passion and enthusiasm for the sport match ditech’s own level of commitment towards helping Americans pursue dream of homeownership. We are excited to take our partnership with Kevin and SHR to the next level in 2015, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this phenomenal team.”
While Harvick has raced at the Sprint Cup level since 2001, the 2014 season marked his first with SHR and crew chief Rodney Childers. The new partnership got off to a great start with a win in the season’s second race at Phoenix International Raceway, which secured a spot in the Chase for the California native. The start of the Chase not only kicked off the final 10-week stretch of the season, but also ditech’s return to NASCAR. The company was proud to be associated with SHR for the entirety of the NASCAR “playoffs,” where Harvick and company beat out the best in the sport to capture the championship.
Although Harvick’s season ended with the sport’s most coveted prize, the entire year was a resounding success. In 2014, he recorded 8 poles (a career season high), 5 wins, 14 top-5 and 20 top-10 finishes. Along the way, Harvick became just the third Sprint Cup driver since 2000 to lead more than 2,000 laps in a season. His dominance helped millions of loyal NASCAR fans become reacquainted with the ditech brand, making it a successful season for both driver and sponsor.
